Lutrinae, that’s not scoundrel-like at all, that’s just smart shopping and planning ahead. We do the same thing, such as grating and freezing cheese when it’s on sale. It gets a little odd when frozen but can be cooked with just fine. Having a big freezer is also a great way to save.

What about growing food in your (expanded) garden and storing apples, potatoes, etc in your fridge or cellar or other veggies in your freezer so they don’t go bad? (My local farmers market sells apples into February) While gardening isn’t quite scoundrel-like, I suppose you’d be subverting Big Ag…

I agree with getting the free boxes from stores as the few times I have moved I have gotten boxes from Walmart. Tip: go at 6 on a Sunday morning….they are unpacking boxes and will be glad to have you cart them away so that they do not have to take them to the back. Woo hoo!!!!

That’s a great tip. Those more sturdy boxes are really useful and if you get them at UPS they can cost from $10 to $50 just for the smaller ones.

In States such as mine that have state run liquor stores they are an excellent place to find boxes to help when moving. Often the boxes are not as large but they are much more sturdy because many are used to ship glass bottles around the country. These make excellent boxes and often have convenient handles for carrying.

Honestly, I’ve flirted for anything I can get. I can be a pretty smooth talker especially to the older retirement age gals that most people are rude too. I just smile and are real nice to em especially if I am there trying to get away with something like returning something past the return policy date or using expired coupons.

I have had younger girls flirt with me even when I shop with my wife but she doesn’t mind if I flirt back and get us a discount haha
